"Deron Miller is back at it, and it rules." – Metal Injection
Deron Miller gives his life to the riff. Unrestrained by industry expectations and genre limitations, the boundlessly prolific guitarist and voice behind multiple beloved projects is best known as the founder, frontman, and songwriter in CKY. His authentic and effortlessly hooky heavy rock obsession returns with the latest offering from 96 BITTER BEINGS, Return to Hellview. Miller roars back with a collection of newly recorded CKY anthems, including “Flesh into Gear,” “Tripled Manic State,” and “Suddenly Tragic.” The familiar warmth, groove, and unapologetic honesty which propelled “Flesh into Gear” to 15 million streams on Spotify infuse the album, while improved production and sonic clarity breathe new life into these classic CKY songs.
A successful crowdfunding campaign enabled Miller to conjure up the limited-release Camp Pain in 2018. The release was followed by North American and European touring, which wrapped up shortly before the COVID-19 shutdowns.
In 2022, 96 BITTER BEINGS unleashed the long-awaited Synergy Restored—an album featuring 11 songs of relentless power and vibe. With its four-on-the-floor beats, fuzzy textures, and visceral energy, the record is authentic rock n’ roll crafted by a real band, not a collection of overprocessed samples. Tracks like “Vaudeville’s Revenge,” “90 Car Pile-Up,” and “Wish Me Dead” vividly showcase the truth-telling prowess of guitars, bass, and drums. Miller is on fire, channeling the same knack for memorable musical epiphanies seen in his work with Foreign Objects, World Under Blood, and CKY.
Now, 96 BITTER BEINGS—fronted by former CKY frontman Deron Miller—are taking their legacy on the road in a bold new way. The band will perform CKY's iconic 2002 album Infiltrate Destroy Rebuild in its entirety, interspersed with select tracks from Synergy Restored. “I can't wait to go back out and play through the entire Infiltrate Destroy Rebuild album,” said Miller. “That part of my life is so precious to me. I never thought that album was the peak of any band's creativity, but it was the peak of our ability to take advantage of the mainstream shot we were given. Bookended by the new album Synergy Restored. All amazing songs. It's the soundtrack to the lives of my favorite people. The fans.” This tour also marks the first with new drummer Tuomas Vuorio and bassist Matthew Janaitis, injecting fresh energy into a cherished legacy.
